We haven’t much covered Christopher Nolan‘s new movie, Inception, since it was first announced (Read: Christopher Nolan To Follow-Up “˜The Dark Knight’ With “˜Inception’). The now-traditional smaller movie that the director likes to do in between his massive Batman film workings is intriguingly described as “…a contemporary sci-fi actioner set within the architecture of the mind,” and has collected quite the impressive cast thus far!
Casting up to this point has included the likes of: Leonardo DiCaprio (The Departed, Blood Diamond); Ellen Page (Juno, X2); Cillian Murphy (Red Eye, Sunshine); Marion Cotillard (La Vie en Rose, Public Enemies); and the newest two additions — Joseph Gordon-Levitt (Brick, The Lookout) and Michael Caine (The Dark Knight, Jaws: The Revenge).
Word is, DiCaprio will be playing a big-time CEO. Page will be playing a student and his assistant with Gordon-Levitt’s character also working for him. Cotillard will be playing DiCaprio’s wife in the movie, and Murphy’s role is not yet known.
Michael Caine being the latest name cast just recently came clean with the news to InContention.
Just a tiny part. Chris and I are very good friends so I’ll do that little part. I think I’ll work about three days. It’ll be extraordinary, wait until you see this one. I think if I say another word he’s going to kill me!
So does this make Nolan and Caine the big new super-duo between directors and actors? Ridley Scott has his Russell Crowe; Martin Scorsese has DiCaprio; and now this. I wonder if Scorsese is jealous that Nolan snagged Leo…maybe it’s an ancient secret rule among Hollywood power-pairs to keep away. He probably had to ask nicely, and likely sent Marty a nice gift basket full of cheese spreads and scented oils and such. You know those big-timers and their cheese spreads.

Seriously, you’re siting Jaws: The Revenge as one of Michael Caine’s major credits?

@Enduro
‘Siting’? So, you’re sticking with that word, huh? I’ll lease you a one-time usage of the word ‘citing’ for $5. Think it over.
