Could ‘Mega Shark vs. Giant Octopus’ Be The Greatest Movie Ever Made?

Shark/Octopus

No, no it could not possibly be the greatest movie ever made, and no, it won’t even be good…at all. But dammit, if Mega Shark vs. Giant Octopus doesn’t look like the kind of awful and sickly fun movie that is just so bad that it’s completely worthy of watching and loving every second, well…I’d be wrong.

The movie takes two frozen prehistoric beasts — a massive Megalodon-type shark and a Krakken-like octopus — who thaw out and wreak havoc on San Francisco. To stop them, a plan is devised to have them battle to the death!

They even obtained the acting talents of stars Lorenzo Lamas and ’80s pop star Deborah Gibson!

The scene everyone seems to love the most is when the shark jumps up and takes a bite out of the Golden Gate Bridge, but there are other equally Michael Bay-awesome scenes, like when the giant octopus grabs hold of a submarine like he’s taking a pill, or when the shark leaps out of the water at a plane, Cloverfield style.

  1. Well that definately knocks ‘The Room’ off the top spot as the greatest movie ever made.
On one hand you have ‘Mega Shark’ and on the other hand you have a ‘Giant Octopus’. In the words of Borat, ‘Wah wah wee waaah’.

  2. Sorry man, you lost my trust with Splatter High. It wasn’t nearly as fun as you said – in fact watching it I remembered it from college (int he 80s) and it wasn’t fun then…worse than Manos? Please…not even close to that kind of bad.

  3. Add Deborah Gibson and we’ve got a winner. Here’s hoping for an “Electric Youth” soundtrack.

  4. Why must MTV block all their videos outside of America? So very stupid. I’d recommend not using their clips if you can find them elsewhere.

  7. Dang. It was actually good. REALLY good! In an 80s sort of way.

  8. Insert Will Ferrell into this Mega Shark movie and it instantly becomes a “blockbuster comedy hit”
