The T-shirt offer of the day over at Teefury today is a “Anatomy,” inspired by the AT-AT walkers from The Empire Strikes Back.
The limited edition navy blue t-shirt, available in both men’s and women’s sizes, sells for just $9 but will be sold today only “” after midnight EST, it’s gone forever (at the top right corner of the site, there’s a countdown to sell-out time). Shipping is $2 for most residents of the U.S., but international shipping is also offered for additional costs.
I’m assuming all of you have already seen The Empire Strikes Back (if not, please back away from the computer, head to your nearest DVD rental/purchase location to acquire movie, then immediately watch this movie), so you’ll know what an AT-AT is. If you’re one of the three people reading this that doesn’t know what it is, it stands for All Terrain Armored Transport and they were the Imperial vehicle of choice in the ground battle on Hoth against the Rebellion.
Teefury was sure to not make any mention of AT-AT or Star Wars on this t-shirt’s sale page, but basically, the artist was trying to show what an AT-AT x-ray would look like if there was actually a creature inside and what we see outside is its armor (think Iron Man’s armor).
Since the Dark Side started using genetically modified walkers, they found many had to visit the Imperial Veterinary Clinic of Osteology suffering with acute pain in their hip joints. X-rays revealed their skeleton structure was just not strong enough to manoeuvre wearing those heavy boots. No amount of Cod Liver oil would ease their pain.
They’re Giant Robot Camels to me.
