Monday, on the DCU blog, DC Executive Editor Dan Didio announced that following the current Blackest Night storyline, DC will produce a bi-weekly series titled Brightest Day.
Brightest Day will be a 26-issue series written by current Green Lantern and Green Lantern Corps writers Geoff Johns and Peter Tomasi. The series will kick off in April with Brightest Day #0, which will feature art by Fernando Pasarin, however no artist was announced for the rest of the series. Covers for the whole series will be provided by new DC exclusive artist David Finch.
The news continues from there, with announcements of tie-in books to Brightest Day. First up will be the new Flash series, also written by Johns, and featuring art by Francis Manapul. This series will also launch in April.
The next series falling under the Brightest Day banner will be Titans, which will gain the new creative team of Eric Wallace and Fabrizio Fiorentino. They will take over with the Titans: Villains for Hire Special. This special will introduce a new Titans team, headed by longtime villain Deathstroke, the Terminator.
The last tie-in issue announced will be Justice League of America #44, which will feature a new team, however that team wasn’t announced as of yet.
