It’s always fun to see a popular character from a video game or movie showing up in other video games and movies…but this might just be the most perfect crossover we’ve seen so far.
According to the January issue of the Official PlayStation Magazine, the brand new installment in the Mortal Kombat franchise will feature a very special guest: the vicious and brutal warrior from the God of War series, Kratos.
Kratos was born to do battle and end lives, and the carnage left in his wake is among the bloodiest ever seen within the realms of entertainment. Considering what he’s fought through in the three God of War games, many might argue that there isn’t a Mortal Kombat character who could stand toe-to-toe with Kratos, but there’s no debating how perfect his inclusion in the one-on-one combat game is.
Not only will Kratos be available as a playable character, but he’ll also have his own unique moves (including fatalities), and his own God of War battle arena. However, you will not be able to use him in the game’s story mode.
The new Mortal Kombat is currently set to be released in March of 2011 on PS3 and Xbox 360. No word yet if there will be a special playable character for the Microsoft console.
