While this may not be all that fitting to the movies and comics and other geek-related things we cover, radio is a form of media and this is simply too good to ignore.
Recently in Columbus, Ohio, a homeless man named Ted Williams was discovered with a sign saying “I have a God-given gift of voice. I’m an ex-radio announcer who has fallen on hard times. Please! Any help will be gratefully appreciated. Thank you and God bless you.” It was decided to test this man and see if it was all just a ruse to try and make a quick buck. It was not.
The result will absolutely astonish you, perhaps even to a point where you’ll think it’s a dubbed video. If it would have stopped after the first thing he said I would have sworn it was fake, but then it keeps going. Mind. Blown.
The man lets one of the greatest radio voices you’ll ever hear, and makes his case for work in radio, voice over, and other various other areas. He tells the story of how he got into radio and went to school, but how drugs and alcohol sent him down the wrong path, which is why he was now begging on the streets and hoping to find a second chance.
You can see the video for yourself by continuing on below!
This has been spreading around the internet like wild, and we’re only happy to help. This man has an awe-inspiring voice talent and because of the internet and the ability to get this around to so many eyes and ears so quickly, it’s all but guaranteed that a pile of offers and interviews and appearances will be heading his way and changing his life in the very near future.
In a world filled with terrible, depressing, and disheartening news, this is one those inspirational tales that all should see and apply to their own lives.
