The $10 t-shirt deal of the day over at RIPT Apparel is the Evil Dead-inspired “The Order Of The Hand That Went Bad.”
The tee, by artist midgerock, went on sale at RIPT today, Sunday, January 16, 2011, at midnight CST, and will continue for 24 hours from then, and once it’s over, it will not be sold on the site anymore.
The design was inspired by the famous severed hand situation in Evil Dead II, and includes the chainsaw and shotgun used by the film’s main character Ash in the Evil Dead film trilogy. Also, the words “Klaatu Barada Nikto” appear, which is a famous line from the third Evil Dead film, Army Of Darkness (which was taken from the original The Day The Earth Stood Still).
The t-shirt is available in men’s and women’s sizes in brown for $10 each. Kids sizes are $15 (Boys, Girls, and Toddler, all in brown); Onesies are $18 (in brown). You can also get the design on a Hoodie for $38 (in Men/Unisex sizes; not sure if the color is black or brown, hard to tell from the picture).
Here’s what the artist had to say about the design:
Also the design is inspired by The Evil Dead trilogy and its main character Ash. I imagined a cult dedicated to Ash and his teachings and this would be their “masonic” inspired symbol. To join you need to lop of the hand that went bad. All members get a chainsaw and shotgun and nifty t-shirt!!!
You can see more of the artist’s work at his Facebook page.
What do you think of this shirt design? You ready to join the Order?
