Disney World postcard - princesses

Dave3 and I are heading back now to Geeks of Doom headquarters in New York after having enjoyed a much-need vacation here in Orlando, FL, staying at the Disney World Resort and also spending a full day at Universal Studios Orlando. We got to go to Universal’s Wizarding World of Harry Potter, which was one of the highlights of the trip, so I’ll be doing a separate report on that in the future.

Thanks to all of you who entered our Disney World Postcard & Theme Park Prize Contest. The winners were chosen, and all 25 postcards sent from Disney World. Also, the item for the Grand Prize Winner was purchased and sent directly from the Disney World Resort, so lucky winner, expect your prize in about 10 days.

If you entered the Disney World Postcard & Theme Park Prize Contest, be sure to continue reading below to find out how you can win an extra prize!

The turnout for this contest was great and it was wonderful reading all of your entries, learning all about what you love about Disney. I tried my hardest to choose postcards that matched your Disney likes. While I could only select 25 people to send to, I truly wish I could have sent one to everyone who entered. I’m blessed to have such an awesome readership, and I hope all of you winners enjoy your postcard.

Also, since I went to Universal’s Wizarding World of Harry Potter, I was able to purchase Harry Potter-themed postage stamps there. Therefore, about half of the winners will have a Harry Potter-themed stamp on their postcard. Hope you enjoy that!

So, how about this? If you were one of the people received a Harry Potter-stamped postcard from me, send me a tweet at @eveofdoom on Twitter with a picture of the stamp from the postcard I sent to you. Of the people who tweet me a picture, I will select one person and send that person a Wizarding World of Harry Potter keychain. (If you don’t know how to tweet the picture to me, just send me a tweet and we’ll work out how you can prove that you got the Harry Potter-stamped postcard from me.)

I want to mention that this vacation would not have been as relaxing and enjoyable if not for the Geeks of Doom staff, helmed in my absence by the great Movie God, Jay. I was able to go out and hit the parks every day without worrying about breaking news or lack of coverage. Jay kept everything organized and my exceptional, dedicated staff just kept the stories coming. Dave3 and I totally appreciate all the hard work from our awesome Doom Crew.

Until next time, this is The Empress signing off, boarding the plane to take me back to the freezing embrace of New York City, and to my kitties that I miss so very much!
