“all of which starred Kate Beckinsale in the lead role of the vampire Selene.”
Actually, in Rise of the Lycans, Kate Beckinsale was not the lead role. The lead in the prequel was Rhona Mitra. They do have a resemble each other and Kate Beckinsale does appear in the movie way at the end (through footage of the previous movie) but I think that was the point to have them look alike. To avoid giving spoilers, it was done on purpose for the story and by design…not only cause they are both smoking hot women.
Cheers!

@prolixs
Thanks for alerting me, I totally forgot about the situation with the third movie (can you blame me? LOL). I took out the word “lead” so that should resolve this. THANKS!
