BOOM! Studios announced today that their BOOM! Kids division has been renamed Kaboom!
The comics publishers sent out the teaser image above to spread the news for their rechristened imprint, which focuses on family friendly comics like Scrooge McDuck and The Muppets.
Soon after the announcement, BOOM! sent out another teaser image, this time with the heading “PEANUTS COME TO KABOOM!” See that image here below. No other information was released regarding the new Peanuts line.
The BOOM! Kids site had been taking down and replaced with just the teaser image.

The current BOOM! Kids titles are predominantly centered around Disney characters, and since Disney now owns Marvel, BOOM! will lose those titles when their contract is up. That means BOOM! has to look to other properties to fill the gap, so along with Peanuts, expect new acquisitions to come in the near future.
[Just wanted to clarify that the last paragraph is purely speculation on my part. It’s logical that a publisher will seek new acquisitions, as that is a part of what a publishing company does. But, I don’t know if BOOM! will lose the Disney properties, that’s just my assumption. I actually hope they get to keep them, as they’ve been doing a great job on those titles, and lots of us here at Geeks of Doom read and enjoy these titles.]
They’ve lost the Pixar/Disney characters to Marvel, but they will continue to publish the rest of the Disney characters.
