A brand new and insanely short video has been released by WETA to tease the effects being used in their Planet of the Apes prequel, Rise of the Planet of the Apes (previously just called Rise of the Apes).
The movie takes place well before the Apes take over all things, when tests are being performed on the animals that ultimately cause everything about them to rapidly evolve. The movie will feature performance capture CGI apes, with Andy Serkis playing the main creature called Caesar.

The video is only 5 seconds in length, but you do get the best look we’ve seen at what these CG apes are going to look like. This may be too hard to judge from, but so far things actually look pretty promising.
