Torchwood

Torchwood: Miracle Day reaches into exciting revelations, as Captain Jack Harkness (John Barrowman) and his Torchwood team begin discovering answers to the Miracle, stemming back almost a hundred years, and connected to his previous relationship with Angelo Colasanto (Daniele Favilli).

But while the new Torchwood join forces with the CIA, Harkness unearths some surprising alien technology when they find out there is one other man who can face mortality as the rest of humanity deals with being immortal.

During TARDISblend 34, we review the events of End of the Road, examining how Jack Harkness himself is at the center behind the cause of Miracle Day. Meanwhile, we examine the new character developments of Jilly Kitzinger (Lauren Ambrose), and deconstruct how Oswald Danes (Bill Pullman) could be more connected to those who caused the Miracle than we previously thought.

We take a look at some amusing trains of thought that simultaneous blame Jack Harkness, Rose Tyler (Billie Piper), The Ninth Doctor (Christopher Eccleston), and Davros (Michael Wisher) for the Miracle, and we also preview the next upcoming episode of Miracle Day, The Gathering, which brings us even closer to further answers and the ultimate climax of the new Torchwood series.

Finally we throw in a few Classic Torchwood UK recommendations for new fans to check out, and find out what our listeners recently had to say about the podcasts. All this and more on the latest TARDISblend!

Presented by Greg Davies (cGt2099 from The Social Blend Podcast) and Tom Cheredar (Tched from The Drill Down Podcast) TARDISblend is a podcast that takes a look at the ongoing adventures in the Doctor Who Universe – as Matt Smith makes his journey as the Eleventh Doctor!

  1. Hi Guys,

Just found your podcasts.  I really enjoy them and I’m glad to know I’m not the only one enjoying TW:MD.

I have to say that your theory about Danes is interesting. But I think incorrect. When Jack confronted Danes, Danes talked about hitting the girl and painting her with her bruises and he watched her life go out through him and it was the best moment of his life. So he might be gay, but I think he did in fact kill the girl. I don’t believe he was framed.  I hope I’m wrong, because closeted gay murderous pedophile would be the worst stereotype RTD would yet foist upon us.

As far as Jack’s seduction scene…I’m a straight female and yes that was HOT and it would work whether you’re gay or no.  If Angelo was uncomfortable he would have never asked Jack to talk dirty about it.

Love your podcasts keep up the good work!

  2. Oh ye of little faith :( Glad you feel that TW is now coming up to the mark :)
But why did they try to elliminate Torchwood in the beginning? Because they fight Aliens. Bring on the Alien Threat and Alien Tech!!! We need more…..

Jilly’s collostomy bag joke was the best “funny” in that episode.
    An aside…..
Speaking of “funnies”, I think funniest line in the reincarnated version of Doctor Who was,
Rose has just been zapped into Jack’s, robbed Chula spaceship, parked by Big Ben, in The Empty Child.
He make a quip and Rose replies, “You can talk, you’re not even in focus!” and collapses. The Moff at his best, Wonderful.
It would be interesting to hear others people’s best funny line from the series.
Anyway, Gay Oswald? good thinking Batman and possibly a few truths in your train of thought ;) but lots of ends to tie up in two hours. Good ol’ Russell.
    Ah cannie wait
    TT
