In honor of the late Freddie Mercury‘s 65th birthday today, September 5, 2011, the official Queen YouTube page has made available a stream of the band’s classic concert Queen – Live at Wembley Stadium.
Watch the entire concert in the embedded video here below.
Streaming of the concert began at midnight EST on September 5 and will continue for 48 hours from then before it ends.
The concert, which was performed over 2 nights in July 1986 for a crowd of 150,000 fans, is over 90 minutes and contains classic tunes like “Bohemian Rhapsody,” “We Will Rock You,” and “We Are The Champions.”
Queen was undoubtedly one of the greatest live rock bands ever, and Mercury was an amazing frontman, always commanding the crowd. For this concert at Wembley, the band pulled out all the stops with their performance. It’s a must-watch, so check out Queen – Live at Wembley Stadium while it’s streaming online for free for the next two days.
“The Wembley concerts were the pinnacle for us,” says May. “We were at our height band-wise, and Freddie had developed this phenomenal way of dealing with stadium audiences. Being back home in London playing two sell-out nights was such a big, big occasion for us. None us realized that this would be almost the last time we would play together.”
