According to THR, both Scott Alexander and Larry Karaszewski have been tapped to pen the script for the upcoming Ridley Scott film, Monopoly. The pair is best known for movies like Ed Wood and People Vs. Larry Flynt.
Now, it should really go without saying that this film doesn’t really seem to be one that could end up being all that worthwhile. Yes. Scott is a fantastic director, but given his last films, he’s one that may be on the tail end of his career.
Personally, I find it nearly impossible to truly get excited for a film like this. Toy adaptations have been laughable, and with something like Battleship looking even worse, the lack of a narrative may not be the creativity breeder that critics, or at least optimists had hoped for. Here’s to hoping that someone like Scott can change that.
