In preparation for the October 16 season premiere of their hit horror series The Walking Dead, AMC is launching a series of six webisodes that documents the onslaught of the zombie apocalypse from the perspective of one of the show’s most memorable living dead characters. You can check out a behind-the-scenes still from the making-of the webisodes below this article.
The web series tells the story of the “Bicycle Girl” zombie, played in the show’s pilot episode by Lilli Birdsell, and follows her life from before the dead took over the Earth to where she ended up before she finally met her demise courtesy of Sheriff Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln), the hero of The Walking Dead. The web series was directed by make-up FX genius Greg Nicotero from a teleplay by John Esposito (Graveyard Shift).
The Walking Dead webisodes will begin airing at amctv.com on Monday, October 3, 2011 at 2pm ET.
The second season of The Walking Dead premieres with a special 90-minute episode on Sunday, October 16 at 9pm ET/PT, with six one-hour episodes in the weeks following. The final six episodes of the season will begin on Sunday, February 12 at 9pm ET/PT.
