I am a shameless [non-paid] promoter for Shudder, AMC’s horror and supernatural streaming service. But like Sy Sperling of Hair Club for Men, I am also a client. Shudder is in the midst of an amazing Fall season, and Greg Nicotero’s new series Creepshow is on the frontlines of all of it. Season 1 of the anthology series is 6 episodes consisting of two 20+ minute segments featuring the acting, writing, and directing talent of some of the best in the genre. And before season 1 can even end, Shudder announced that the series has been renewed for a second season.
Premiering on Thursday night, September 26, 2019, Creepshow has been a massive critical and financial hit for Shudder. Nearly 50% of all Shudder members have watched at least one episode and it’s given credit for a spike in annual subscriptions over the past month. The show is also pulling a 92% on Rotten Tomatoes.
“For me, Creepshow has been a true labor of love,” said Nicotero in a statement. Nicotero worked on the original 1982 film which was a collaboration of two great horror minds, George A. Romero and Stephen King. Another of Nicotero’s influences, the great make-up effects guru Tom Savini, is directing a story in the final episode premiering tomorrow night on Halloween.
A second season of Creepshow is just one of the many reasons to subscribe to the best horror streaming service available with a catalogue of classics, Shudder Exclusives, original content, and foreign imports.
If you sign up before the end of Halloween night, you can save 31% on your subscription. Go to try.shudder.com/halloween2019 to get the reduced price deal or go to shudder.com for a 7-day free trial.
