Everyone and their mothers want to cash in on the current comic book craze within the film world.

THR is reporting that Universal, Robert Zemeckis, and writer Evan Spiliotopoulos are set to bring the comic book Fort: Prophet Of The Unexplained for a film entitled Charles Fort.

The Dark Horse four-issue series from 2002 follows the story of an American “researcher and writer whose focus was “˜anomalous phenomena’ and the unexplained.”

Now, while I’m not a huge fan of Zemeckis, nor have I read the book, it definitely could be an interesting change of pace from the superhero heavy comic adaptation world we’ve had over the past decade-plus.  I’m not too familiar with the book, but it does have an intriguing premise, and while it may just be the overall October vibe that we’ve hit this month, but a supernatural project could be just the type of project Zemeckis needs to really get back on his A-game.  What do you think?
