And this project just got a whole lot more interesting.

A remake of the brilliant Thin Man, itself based off of a Dashiell Hammett novel, isn’t a piece that is being clamored about too much. It’s a beloved classic, and at this point, it doesn’t seem like it will be done the justice it deserves.  That is, until this bit of news.

THR reports that the great writer Billy Ray will be penning the film for Johnny Depp and Rob Marshall, making this film one that doesn’t necessarily need to be made, but just got a great team to bring it to us, if it has to be. 

I love the Powell and Loy franchise, so hopefully Depp, a really great and charismatic thespian, can bring a bit of energy to the film.  Hopefully anyways. What about you? Are your hopes high, or is this project doomed already?
