With her star distinctly on the rise, if it hasn’t already gone through the roof, actress Carey Mulligan has now become one of the biggest names in the acting game.
Variety is reporting that both The Coen Brothers and Spike Jonze have tapped the actress to star as the female lead in their respective next pictures. For the pair of brothers, she’ll star opposite Oscar Isaac in Inside Llewyn Davis, and opposite Joaquin Phoenix in Jonze’s next project.
The Jonze film is especially interesting, as it will be a reteaming of Jonze and his right hand man Charlie Kaufman, but that at this point is all we know about the film. On the Coen front, the film will follow a man who “struggles as a folk musician during the genre’s 1960s heyday in New York City.” Doesn’t quite sound like your typical Coen project, but you know what? In a way, that is why it’s beyond intriguing.
Both of these films sound really impeccable, and while we don’t know a ton about either, they are both near the top of the most anticipated projects around.
What do you think?
