Amazon is currently running a deal through the end of the month on MP3 albums in their 100 Albums for $5 Each sale.
One of the $5 albums is Rush’s Spirit Of Radio: Greatest Hits (1974-1987), which contains 16 of the band’s most popular songs, like “Tom Sawyer,” “The Spirit Of Radio,” and “Limelight.”
The CD version is currently at the low price of $9.48.
Time for me to reiterate the Rush is my favorite band in the entire world, and therefore it makes perfect sense that I would recommend you grab this $5 deal, as ALL 16 songs are awesome. But if I must, here’s some math…
MATH TIME: Typically, MP3 songs sell for $.99 each, which means in order for the $5 sale to be worth it for the buyer, there has to be at least five songs on the album worth having. Since this is a greatest hits compilation, there’s much more than five greats on here. There’s the three aforementioned tunes, which everyone in the world knows; then there’s “Freewill” – that brings us to four. And topping it off is “2112 Overture / The Temples Of Syrinx” – really two songs in one that open the band’s 1976 concept 2112 and right there is justification for the $5 price tag.
See full track listing below and go grab the album. You can thank me later.
Remember, sale ends on October 31, 2011 at 11:59pm PST. Be sure to check out this deal, as well as the other albums available for only $5.
