If there has ever been a pairing more interesting than this one, I have yet to hear about it.
Deadline is reporting that the newly launched Gaumont International Television has sold an hour-long drama series to NBC. Entitled Hannibal, the show is penned and produced by TV juggernaut Bryan Fuller, and is based around the hugely iconic pop culture entity, Hannibal Lecter.
Fuller is working on the script for a full 13-episode order, meaning that the show will only head to the small screen if bought for a full season, and honestly, I don’t see any case where that doesn’t happen. Fuller is an immensely talented writer and producer, and this is a narrative that could be mined for a really interesting series. Given the right cast, this thing could, hopefully, mark the return of Fuller, a name we haven’t heard in quite some time.
What do you think?

I agree, horrible idea; not only has the “serial killer as sympathetic anti-hero,” been embarrassingly overused, but also the best thing about Hannibal Lecter, Sir Anthony Hopkins, would never be involved in this project.    Â
