Finally, something new to report on the Lone Ranger front.

Deadline is reporting that Disney has found a baddie for its upcoming project, and an actor to fill its role. Tom Wilkinson will play Latham Cole, the leader of a gang who will be the one causing trouble for our lead, played by Armie Hammer.

Johnny Depp, Barry Pepper, Helena Bonham Carter, James Badge Dale, and Dwight Yoakum round out the fantastic cast for the film, a picture that’s seen its fair share of issues. Gore Verbinski directs, and the outlet is also reporting that Ruth Wilson is finalizing her deal to take on the female lead for the piece.

As a huge fan of Wilkinson, this is great news. No one plays a villain quite like this guy, and hopefully he’ll add a great deal of cast to an otherwise oddly put together cast. I find this addition to be really great, and makes it a far more intriguing project than it was a day ago. What do you think?
