It’s being reported that Katee Sackhoff, star of the great Ronald D. Moore and David Eick Battlestar Galactica revival, is in final negotiations to join Vin Diesel on the cast of the Chronicles of Riddick sequel, which is yet to be titled.
Last we heard about the sequel was that production had been shut down due to lack of funds back in November, but now everything seems to be back on track and production has resumed.
In the movie, Sackhoff will play Dahl, a Nordic mercenary who’s on the trail of Diesel’s Riddick character.
David Twohy will write and direct the new sequel. He wrote and directed both previous Riddick movies, Pitch Black and The Chronicles of Riddick, and he also wrote The Fugitive, G.I. Jane, and The Perfect Getaway, to name a few.
A release date has not yet been set, but the movie is currently aiming for sometime in 2013.

This is great news… Pitch Black and Chronicles were a lot of fun, and I can’t wait to see more from the Riddick Universe!
