Confirming long standing rumors, the upcoming sequel to the yet-to-be-released Hunger Games feature adaptation just got a lot more prestigious.
The Wrap is confirming that Simon Beaufoy, best known for his work behind the scripts for Danny Boyle’s last two films Slumdog Millionaire and 127 Hours, is working on a screenplay for the new project, Catching Fire.
Gary Ross will be back in the director’s chair for the sequel, which personally, seems about as far from interesting as a film can get. Beaufoy has written probably Danny Boyle’s two worst films, making two really interesting premises into two horribly turgid and overtly cliché piles of garbage. I’m not too familiar with this franchise, but what I am familiar with is just how uninteresting Beaufoy is a writer. Hopefully he can prove me wrong, but I’m not holding my breath. At least not now.
What do you think?

Wait, so…how do you really feel?
