The Woman in Black, the latest horror effort from Hammer Films, opened in theaters this past weekend and marks star Daniel Radcliffe‘s first big screen project post-Harry Potter.

In the film, Radcliffe stars as lawyer Arthur Kips, who’s a widower raising his young son, but he’s also having trouble going on with his life and handling his cases after his wife’s death. Kips gets sent on assignment by his firm to a remote village that, unbeknownst to outsiders, is haunted by a very vengeful ghost – the Woman In Black.

You can watch the eerie opening sequence for The Woman in Black, which is introduced by Radcliffe himself, in the video here below.

I thoroughly enjoyed film, and while there are some holes and a few things about it that will leave you scratching your head, I think it’s creepy old-school horror goodness and Radcliffe easily sheds his boy wizard persona.
