It was confirmed yesterday that Expendables 2 co-stars and longtime friends Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sylvester Stallone would be reteaming for the director Mikael Hafstrom’s The Tomb.
The Tomb will be shot in Louisiana this Spring, so how did these two action icons get ready for their next big-screen effort? With some buddy shoulder surgeries!
Schwarzenegger tweeted a photo of Stallone and himself in hospital gowns lying side-by-side hospital beds awaiting their turns for shoulder surgery. Check out the photo, which the former California governor posted to his Who Say account, here below.
Here’s what Schwarzenegger said about the photo:
After all the action, stunts & physical abuse shooting The Expendables 2 and The Last Stand, it was time for a little tune up on my shoulder. Look who was coincidentally waiting in line behind me for his shoulder surgery. Now we’re ready for another round of great times and action when we shoot The Tomb. #greattobeback
Sorry, gotta love his hashtag.
Yes, I love both Schwarzenegger and Stallone and will pretty much sit through any movie they’re in, no matter what the situation. (So, yes, I would go see a movie where the two aging muscle-bound action heroes coincidentally schedule their shoulder surgeries for the same date and time, and they’re unknowingly both in love with the doctor performing the surgery, and the doctor has to run back and forth between the two operating rooms hoping that neither patient finds out about the other one, which becomes very difficult when they end up sharing a recovery room.)
Anyhow, if you’ve seen any of their action films, then you know the kind of stunts these now two men — who are now nearing into senior citizen status — have performed, so shoulder surgery is no surprise. I, for one, am glad to see them both still up and running and ready to kick ass on screen.
