The International Toy Fair currently going on in New York City isn’t a convention, even though it may look sort of like one from a distance. Toy Fair is all about sellers trying to woo buyers at the most basic of definitions. There are indie creators in booths huckstering their creations right along side big boys like Hasbro and Mattel. Buyers also range in size from mom and pop hobby shops to Target and Walmart.
Geeks of Doom is on the scene at the Toy Fair, so take a look here below at our first photo gallery of some of what was on display.
In this one place, the largest show of its kind in the Northern hemisphere, the people that influence toys the most all come together. The 2012 Toy Fair is the 109th event and it’s the largest so far with over 35,000 attendees and over 1100 booths. While the larger companies were guarding their wares like Fort Knox, the indie creators were showing everything they had and honestly some of their products were the most innovative of the show.
