Apparently the world does really love themselves some Game of Thrones.
Deadline reports that another one of the stars from the hit HBO show, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, has joined the cast of the upcoming Tom Cruise-starring and Joseph Kosinski-directed sci-fi thriller, Oblivion.
The film is being set up at Universal, and will follow the story of a man who discovers a woman in a crashed pod who must come to terms with this post-apocalyptic world, where humans are forced to live above the clouds, due to Earth being simply impossible to live on. The film is based off of Kosinski’s own graphic novel.
This isn’t Coster-Waldau’s only brush with film, he’ll next be seen in the film Headhunters as well as the Guillermo Del Toro-produced Mama, which recently wrapped. Personally, while I’m not all that familiar with his work, having not seen the show, I do really like this premise, and Cruise has always been an appealing actor. Toss in Kosinski, and you have the makings of a sci-fi film definitely worth keeping an eye on.
What do you think?
