Happy 81st birthday today to William Shatner!
The legendary actor, who has a career that spans over 50 years and countless generations, still has a career going strong to this day.
Best remembered by fans for his portrayal of James T. Kirk on Star Trek, Shatner’s resume of work stretches much farther than that. He’s been in countless motion pictures, TV shows other than Star Trek (Boston Legal, TJ Hooker, among others); he’s an author of his TekWar Sci-Fi series of books; pushes the campy envelope with his “singing” on his albums, (ranging from Beatles covers to Black Sabbath covers on his latest CD, Seeking Major Tom); and is also a big 1970s game show stalwart with appearances on Match Game, Tattletales, and other shows of that era.
Big birthday greetings once again to the great Bill Shatner! As his Captain Kirk might put it, “Celebrate it”¦anyway”¦you”¦LIKE”¦just”¦make sure”¦you are”¦celebrating”¦ME!”
For fun, here’s a clip of Shatner on the old $20,000 Pyramid game show, in the winner’s circle, BY HIMSELF, with hilarious results. The clip is grainy, but still worth watching!!
