The Walking Dead by Tony Moore

Digital comic book retailer Comixology is offering a FREE digital copy of The Walking Dead #19, which features the debut of Michonne, one of the series’ most popular characters.

The sword-wielding badass from The Walking Dead was revealed in the last minutes of the television show’s season two finale last Sunday, and while many comic book readers were celebrating, others were left scratching their heads at the site of a woman in a tattered hooded jacket, holding a sword and leading two zombies on chains. Granted, the debut of the character was an awesome sight, but fans who haven’t read the comics have no idea of the significance of the character. Enter Comixology. Comixology and Skybound are not run by stupid people. Offering the debut of the character for free is a perfect way to bring in fans of the show to check what fans of the comic have known for years. Michonne is totally awesome.

I can’t for the life of me figure out why anyone with Internet access would not be interested in getting this comic. It’s FREE. It’s a free comic book. I’ve read the majority of this series, but I’m still going to download a copy of this comic because it’s free. So, if there are people out there reading this who haven’t read this comic and are watching and enjoying the show, why not check out the comic? It’s a really good series and you can pick up this issue for absolutely zero cost to you. So, go ahead and do that by heading over to Comixology online or to their mobile app. Plus you have the option to read more!

Fans of the television show can take this opportunity to also pick up other issues of the comic book digitally to get either an idea of where the television series may go, or to check and see where the idea from the series came from. Fans of the television show may also be interested to know that the comic is reaching its 100th issue, so there’s plenty to see in the Image Comics section of their Comixology app.

The comic will not be free forever, unfortunately, as this deal ends on Monday, March 26, 2012. So hurry up and get your free comic book, suckas! What are you waiting for? Go to Comixology now and get it! It’s free!

  1. That was such a great introduction to her character. Those were some good nights, staying up late reading through 15 Walking Deads a night.
