The Walking Dead: The Final Season

Last month came the announcement that Telltale Games was closing its doors, which meant the end for game series like The Walking Dead and The Wolf Among Us, which fans were finally getting a second season of after years of waiting patiently.

But the biggest immediate question everyone had was what did this mean for The Walking Dead: The Final Season. The closing chapter of Telltale’s most successful series had only just begun when the news hit, and it was unclear if two of the four episodes would ever actually see the light of day. Telltale made it clear that they were in talks with companies to help complete the season, and now we know that they’ve found the perfect partner. It was announced during the Walking Dead TV series’ New York Comic-Con 2018 panel that Skybound Entertainment, the company co-founded by Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman, has reached a deal to ensure that the final season does indeed get the closure it deserves.

Invincible

Robert Kirkman‘s comic book series Invincible is the story of a teenager whose father is the most powerful superhero in the world, and the struggles he endures while navigating regular life with the onset of his own newfound abilities. The series may have come to its definitive conclusion back in February of this year, but as its name suggests, the titular character and the world he inhabits will live on – just in a new medium.

In conjunction with Skybound and Image Comics, Amazon Studios is in the beginning stages of developing an animated series based on the long-running superhero comic. The series will begin with eight episodes, each running an hour long.

The Walking Dead by Tony Moore

Digital comic book retailer Comixology is offering a FREE digital copy of The Walking Dead #19, which features the debut of Michonne, one of the series’ most popular characters.

The sword-wielding badass from The Walking Dead was revealed in the last minutes of the television show’s season two finale last Sunday, and while many comic book readers were celebrating, others were left scratching their heads at the site of a woman in a tattered hooded jacket, holding a sword and leading two zombies on chains. Granted, the debut of the character was an awesome sight, but fans who haven’t read the comics have no idea of the significance of the character. Enter Comixology. Comixology and Skybound are not run by stupid people. Offering the debut of the character for free is a perfect way to bring in fans of the show to check what fans of the comic have known for years. Michonne is totally awesome.

Written by Robert Kirkman
Pencils & Colors by Jason Howard
Inks by Cliff Rathburn
Letters by Rus Wooton
Image Comics
Release Date: March 21, 2012
Cover Price: $2.99

There’s a lot missing from Super Dinosaur #9. Like the Super Dinosaur theme song. Super Dinosaur toys. Super Dinosaur t-shirts. Super Dinosaur breakfast cereal. Super Dinosaur the 3-D ride. Super Dinosaur Underoos and of course, Super Dinosaur: The Flame Thrower. But, for the comic itself — it’s pretty much all there.

Robert Kirkman writes a great issue of a licensed property comic that never was a licensed property. Yes, this book is aimed at kids, but for someone like myself, and any reader who’s over the age of about 16, it reads like that comic you picked up when you were a kid. GI Joe, Masters of the Universe, Visionaries, Transformers, Power Rangers, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, whatever it was that we watched on TV or played with in the yard and then that one day we discovered that there was a comic book to go with it!! And we ate that comic up with a spoon!!! That’s the same feeling I got when reading this comic.
