In conjunction with the Season 2 premiere of HBO‘s Game Of Thrones and the network’s current “Pledge Your Allegiance” ad campaign, HBO gave out free Game Of Thrones-themed tattoos on Friday to 50 devotees, who waited hours outside the Wooster Street Social Club, home to TLC’s reality series NY Ink.
The first 50 people in line outside the shop in the SoHo section of New York City on March 30, 2012 got to choose one of five designs, each a sigil of the five Houses of Westeros: the Stark direwolf, Lannister lion, Baratheon stag, Greyjoy kraken, Targaryen three-headed dragon. The tattoos were designed by shop owner and artist Ami James. For those not wanting permanent ink, there were temporary tattoos available.
I love Game Of Thrones as well as tattoos, and I happen live in the area, so I would have loved to get one of these tats for free! Now that I think about it, the headline of this story should be, “HBO Gives 50 People Free ‘Game Of Thrones’ Tattoos; Why The Fuck Wasn’t I One Of Them?”
Anyhow, the folks over at Buzzfeed did attend Friday’s event and one of the dudes even got a permanent tat [lucky!], so head on over to Buzzfeed to get their recap of the day and to check out their photos and video from the event. (Image here above is from Buzzfeed.)
And don’t forget, the Season 2 premiere of Game Of Thrones is tonight, Sunday, April 1 at 9pm ET/PT.
