It was a long road for The Hobbit, with MGM’s problematic financial issues being the main reason of the stall, but the two-part film has finally wrapped principal photography. To help commemorate such a momentous occasion Peter Jackson has sent us a bit of a tease. Check out the full image below.
The photo was posted on Facebook, and as you can see, it was a pretty stressful shoot. I’m not stirring up rumors, just saying that it was a very lengthy production. But here is what Jackson had to say about wrapping principal photography for The Hobbit.
We made it! Shoot day 266 and the end of principal photography on The Hobbit. Thanks to our fantastic cast and crew for getting us this far, and to all of you for your support! Next stop, the cutting room. Oh, and Comic Con! Cheers, Peter J
While we might not be able to see how this film is being cut, we will see some very cool material when we cover San Diego Comic-Con this year. Just how much footage we will get to see remains to be seen. But what we do see, you can be sure we will cover. The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, hits on December 14 of this year, while the second part, The Hobbit: There and Back Again, will be released on December 13, 2013.
