Not a whole lot of people were fans of the 2004 comic book adaptation The Punisher—though there are plenty who do consider it a guilty pleasure—despite its high amount of violence and badge of honor R rating. The movie starred Thomas Jane as the Punisher himself, Frank Castle, and as it turns out, Jane is just a fan like you or I. And just like many fans do, Jane decided he wanted to make his own Punisher fan film, which he went ahead and did.
The result is a 10-minute short fan film titled Dirty Laundry, which sees Castle, living out of a van, trying to go about his day without getting involved in the very bad things going on in the very bad neighborhood he’s in. But, of course, things can only go so far.
Click on over to the other side to watch Jane’s Punisher fan film, but be warned: the short is very NSFW. He’s wearing a Yankees hat, and no one needs to see that crap. But seriously…it’s a really violent video.
Of the project, Jane said:
“I wanted to make a fan film for a character I’ve always loved and believed in — a love letter to Frank Castle & his fans. It was an incredible experience with everyone on the project throwing in their time just for the fun of it. It’s been a blast to be a part of from start to finish — we hope the friends of Frank enjoy watching it as much as we did making it.”
In order to make his fan film a reality, Jane reached out to a bunch of people including director Phil Joanou (U2: Rattle and Hum, Gridiron Gang), writer Chad St. John (Motor City), and the great Ron Perlman.
Everyone offered their time, making the short like any other normal everyday group of friends might get together and make a movie. Of course, these are not normal everyday people; they are very talented people, and their final product is much better than most of us would be able to pull off. It’s even got some of Hans Zimmer and James Newton Howard’s fantastic musical score from The Dark Knight, which is never a bad thing.

This was way better than the movie starring Thomas Jane.

Thomas Jane was not a bad Frank Castle, the problem with all the Punisher films have been the scripts. I am glad to know that Jane is a fan.

I love it! Bring Thomas Jane back as the Punisher. How about a good script this time?

My only problem with Thomas Jane’s Punisher movie was John Travolta as the villain because he makes a terrible villain! And they’re all the same type of character: Punisher, Swordfish, Broken Arrow, Face/off, Taking of Pelham 123. Punisher deserved a more menacing and believable bad guy.

“I just want my wife back!”
“Save it for the stand, Tom Jane.”

Best start to the day…watching this video. The punisher aka Thomas Jane was a big hit here in New Zealand.

Share my thoughts and comments? OK… Nobody gives a crap about what you think of the NY Yankees. How’s that, dipshit? Furthermore RAY STEVENSON is a way better Punisher than Thomas Jane. Jane isn’t even 6 foot tall, and he isn’t intimidating. Stevenson is 6’4″ and an ass kicker.
