The Punisher is back on the job. Back in the fight.
The Marvel Netflix shows are quickly coming to an end. After the cancellation of Iron Fist, Luke Cage, and Daredevil, all that remains are The Punisher and Jessica Jones. And with Disney+ launching later this year, the likelihood of Netflix’s remaining two Marvel shows being cancelled are very high. And while we know the inevitable is coming, we can still look forward to one more season from the two.
The latest trailer for The Punisher season 2 has been released. In it, we get more of an idea of what Frank Castle (Jon Bernthal) will be doing now that he has been paroled and what a disfigured Billy Russo (Ben Barnes) will be doing to get his revenge. Check out the trailer below.
As aforementioned, this will probably be the last season for The Punisher, especially with how Netflix has been canceling their Marvel shows. Which is a bit unfortunate for fans who have been following them since the beginning. Each of them brought their own unique tones and themes. Although, all of them shared the common pacing issues that plagued each and every season of the respective shows. So don’t expect things to change for The Punisher season 2.
Here’s the official plot synopsis:
Frank Castle (Jon Bernthal) can run but he can’t hide from who he’s meant to be. Season two finds Frank in all too familiar territory. With Castle’s former brother-in-arms Billy Russo (Ben Barnes) slowly beginning to heal from the traumatic brain injury Frank inflicted on him, it’s only a matter of time before Billy starts to put the pieces of the puzzle back together.
Amber Rose Revah, Jason R. Moore, Deborah Ann Woll, Josh Stewart, Floriana Lima, Giorgia Whigham, Corbin Bernsen, and Annette O’Toole also star.
All episodes of The Punisher season 2 will be available for streaming exclusively on Netflix on January 18, 2019.
