In an announcement met by the shocked response of absolutely no one, Steven Spielberg‘s Abraham Lincoln biopic, Lincoln has been given an official release date right smack dab in the middle of awards season.
It’s been announced that the movie will hit select theaters on November 9, 2012, before expanding nationally on November 16th. The move is an interesting one because it puts Lincoln in an face-to-face battle with the monster that is sure to be the grand finale in the Twilight franchise, The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2.
Even if it’s Spielberg’s worst movie it will likely still be far better than Breaking Dawn, but it almost certainly will also be demolished at the box office. It would appear that the primary focus is the awards.
Lincoln stars Daniel Day-Lewis as the former president, as well as Tommy Lee Jones, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Sally Field, and James Spader, with the script written by Tony Kushner.
