The Oregon Trail is one of those ultra classic games almost everyone has played in their lifetimes, whether it was on an old green and black-screened computer in school, or whether it’s a newer version on your phone or Facebook.
So how do you make a popular game like that better? Many have upgraded the graphics and gameplay mechanics, but now comes an old school-style version that ups the ante in a major way. All that’s left for you is to decide if it is in fact better now. The game is titled Super Amazing Wagon Adventure, and along with your lengthy trip, you might encounter everything from the basic buffalo, bears, and wolves to giant spiders, aliens, zombies, and unicorns, just to name a few.
You can find out where to play the game and check out a trailer below.
Super Amazing Wagon Adventure is actually an an independently made game, available on Xbox Live’s Marketplace in the Indie Games section. It will only run you 80 Microsoft Points, and the replay value is supposed to be incredible; random sections unfolding as you play leads to a different game on many different occasions.
You can learn more about the game at the Xbox Live Marketplace, and be sure to share your thoughts below!
