Everyone already adores geek god Joss Whedon for the many treasures he has bestowed upon us, so why not branch out to as many forms of entertainment as humanly possible?
Whedon recently starred as the action hero lead in a short film titled Scary Smash, written by 5-year-old Brett Baligad. The short is part of something called Written by a Kid, where little ones tell their stories as we watch their young visions realized by real directors, actors, and so on.
You can check out Scary Smash (as well as a couple fun behind-the-scenes videos) below!
Brett’s story is about a one-eyed monster who kills a milk man, leading to the arrival of the S.Q.U.A.T. squad and their fearless leader, Gerald (Whedon), who enters into a 7-day battle with the monster.
The short also stars Dave Foley (Kids in the Hall, News Radio) and Kate Micucci (Raising Hope, When in Rome), and is directed by Daniel Strange (Between Two Ferns with Zach Galifianakis). It’s even produced geek goddess Felicia Day!
Check out the short, as well as a look at the making of and casting of Scary Smash, and share your thoughts below!
