Just when you thought the found footage style would have overstayed its welcome, it finds a creepy way to stay in theaters. Up to now, we had no idea what the plot was for Paranormal Activity 4, but a new trailer give us an idea as to what it could be.
The previous three Paranormal Activity films have always found creative ways to present the found footage shooting style, by utilizing various forms of camera technology. We’ve seen hidden cameras, security cameras, and handheld camcorders. But for Paranormal Activity 4, directors Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman (Catfish) have found a way to use the found footage technique using modern technology.
Check it out below.
Based on the trailer below the film looks like it will use online video chatting. So let’s just hope the characters in the film have a very good Internet connection.
As with almost every sequel to a film, there will be new characters introduced to the franchise. However, the first three films centered on the dark presence surrounding Katie, and how that haunting spirit affected her and her family. So how this “neighbor” ties into the mythology of the Paranormal Activity franchise is still a mystery.
Paranormal Activity 4 will open in theaters on October 19th.
