Is it April? It feels like it should be the beginning of April, spring in the air, flowers blooming, and of course, deception afoot.
No, no—it’s October, the most wonderful time of the year! So why is it that news outlets are reporting that a one Mr. Nicolas Cage has entered into talks to star in a remake of Left Behind, the trilogy of religious-based movies headlined by Growing Pains star Kirk Cameron? Well…because apparently it’s true, folks.
According to the reports, Cage would be starring in a mainstream remake of the trilogy, which follows a group of people who were…left behind…after the Rapture occurs. Vic Armstrong, who did stunts for the Indiana Jones films (and many more) and worked as a stunt coordinator and/or second unit director on a slew of other films, is set to direct.
The project is being put together by Paul Lalonde and his newly created studio, Stoney Lake Entertainment. Lalonde will also write the script with John Patus, and produce along with Michael Walker.
The movies are based on the books of the same name written by Tim LaHaye and Jerry Jenkins, which have sold 65 million copies.
