If you’re familiar with the Hellraiser movies, you might be interested in getting one of your very own Puzzle Boxes (formally known as the Lemarchand’s box). There are currently several being offered online, including this Hellraiser Rubik’s Cube variety; there’s also a bunch offered on Amazon.
I grew up on the Hellraiser movies, so I have been and always will be scared as hell of having one of these near me – I wouldn’t want to inadvertently summon Pinhead and the Cenobites and get ripped to shreds by chained hooks, thanks (although I am tempted to get this adorable Puzzle Box Pull Chain – but you see, that’s how it starts, with temptation!).
But you have to admit, a Hellraiser Puzzle Box Rubik’s Cube is pretty cool. If you don’t want to order one online, you can make your own! Author Clive Barker, whose novella The Hellbound Heart launched the Hellraiser film series, posted on his official Facebook page a link to a blog by artist Al Rio (who goes by the handle Artistmonk), who wrote up detailed instructions with photos on how to make your own Hellraiser Puzzle Cube.
The photo here at top is Al Rio’s finished DIY version; the video here below is from The Puzzle Box Shop, who actually created their version by taking the stickers off an official 2-inch Rubik’s Cube and replacing them with the designs from the Hellraiser Puzzle Box.
You may have noticed that we're now AD FREE! Please support Geeks of Doom by using the Amazon Affiliate link above. All of our proceeds from the program go toward maintaining this site.
