The cast of visionary directory Guillermo del Toro‘s next movie, Crimson Peak, is coming together quite nicely, you could say.
We just found out that Sherlock and Star Trek Into Darkness Benedict Cumberbatch was joining a cast that already included The Amazing Spider-Man and Zombieland star Emma Stone as well as Sons of Anarchy and del Toro’s Pacific Rim star Charlie Hunnam.
Now comes word that yet another high profile star is joining the cast, this time with an Academy Award nomination in her back pocket. It’s being reported that Jessica Chastain, who was just nominated for and Oscar for her work in Zero Dark Thirty, is also joining the cast.
Little is known of the movie apart from it being a haunted house thriller in which a woman’s husband may not be what he appears to be. It wasn’t known who the two actors would be playing but was assumed a couple of days ago that Stone would be playing the woman. But with Chastain now involved, it’s anyone’s guess who’s playing who.
The movie was also set to begin production in February of 2014, but according to this new report it will be bumped up a month to January.
