
Actor James Gandolfini, best known for his role as Tony Soprano on the hit HBO series The Sopranos, has reportedly died suddenly of a heart attack while in Italy. He was 51 years old.
Gandolfini was said to be in the country for the 59th Taormina Film Festival in Sicily, and that he was also set to take part in an event with Italian director Gabriele Muccino this weekend.
The actor was a fan favorite, starring in numerous notable roles, often of the large and intimidating variety. Films he has appeared in include True Romance, Get Shorty, The Mexican, The Man Who Wasn’t There, The Last Castle, In the Loop, Where the Wild Things Are, and most recently, Killing Them Softly, Zero Dark Thirty, and The Incredible Burt Wonderstone.
