The X-Men have been in print for 50 years! Marvel is celebrating that milestone with a limited series called X-Men Gold that will feature all-new stories from the creators that have made the Children of the Atom what they are today (for better or for worse).
X-Men Gold #1 is an all-new full-length story from writer Chris Claremont and artist Bob McLeod. Claremont has had a rocky return to the franchise over the last few years, but there’s no denying the impact he had on the X-Men and the Marvel Universe in general. There’s also an all-new story from Stan “the Man” Lee! Other stories set at various points in X-Men history are from creators Len Wein, Jorge Molina, Fabian Nicieza, Salvador Larroca, Roy Thomas, and Pat Olliffe.
Check out the preview of X-Men Gold #1 here below.
“Over the last 50 years, the X-Men have changed people’s lives, myself included.” Says X-Men Senior Editor Nick Lowe.
“Through Cyclops, Jean Grey, Wolverine, Kitty Pryde and the rest of the X-Men, the creators of these merry mutants taught us that it’s not only okay to be different, but that difference is to be celebrated! To honor the characters and the creators we wanted to do something special”¦ hence X-MEN:GOLD!”
X-Men Gold #1 hits store shelves and digital platforms on November 13, 2013 — Pre-order it now.
