Last month it was revealed that the highly anticipated new South Park RPG game, South Park: The Stick of Truth, finally had an official release date after multiple delays, and it felt like it was for real this time. Sadly, that’s not the case.
It’s being reported that the game has once again been pushed back, this time from its December release to March 4th of 2014. Grr. Argh. But on the bright side of life, a new seven-minute gameplay video has been released. You can check that out below.
South Park co-creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone made a statement via the Ubisoft Blog, saying:
“We always wanted the game to feel like you’re actually in an episode of South Park. Getting the game up to the crappy standards of the show has been a real challenge and we’re excited to say it’s taken way longer than we thought it would.”
As is always the case with games, a little (or sometimes a lot) of extra wait time is worth it, so long as the game is that much better when it finally does get released. Let’s hope this date sticks.
You can pre-order the regular edition of South Park: The Stick of Truth for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC, or the Grand Wizard Edition for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC now.
