Star Wars: Rebels Kanan

Promotional material and media attention for Disney’s upcoming animated series Star Wars: Rebels is continuing in full force. We just got a look at several propaganda style posters promoting the Empire, and now a new character, Kanan, has been revealed along with a video promoting the “cowboy Jedi” which includes interviews and a first look at the character in action. You can check out the video in full below.

In the Star War: Rebels universe, Kanan is a Jedi in exile, who escaped the initial slaughter of the Jedi as part of Order 66 in Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith. Kanan has put away his lightsaber under lock and key, and has taken to using a blaster instead as a way to hide his true identity from the Empire and the Inquisitor, another character new to Rebels who has been charged with hunting down the remaining Jedi.

Multiplayer and co-op gaming is just as popular as ever, and so game makers must figure out fresh and exciting new ways to build on that popularity.

One such game that seeks to deliver that unique experience and is getting a lot of buzz is titled Evolve. Various video game reporters were able to get their hands on the game recently, and some very intriguing information is coming out. Basically, the game is designed as a five-person cooperative multiplayer experience where players try to hunt and kill a vicious monster. The catch? Only four of you or your friends will be hunting the monster…the 5th player IS the monster.

I don’t know if I need to make a distinction between being a science fiction fan and a comic book fan, but I will say I am a fan of comic books with a sci-fi bend, which is why I was excited to dive into the new Image Comics series The Fuse, by writer Antony Johnston and artist Justin Greenwood. The series is not just an interesting sci-fi tale, but it is at heart a mystery story, or even more accurately a police procedural show in comic book form.

The Fuse #1 is set on an orbital space station where everyone seems to live in an area called Midway City. We are introduced to Dietrich, a German police officer newly immigrating to Midway City to join the homicide division. Dietrich barely gets off his flight to the station before getting tied into a possible murder of a “cabler,” basically a homeless person on the station.

Gary Oldman Shares British Valentine's Day Tradition

It looks like Gary Oldman has become the spokesperson for how the British view holidays. In November, he shared an anglicized message about America’s Thanksgiving, and now The Dark Knight Rises actor is back to share a British Valentine’s Day tradition.

During an appearance last night on Jimmy Kimmel Live to promote this new film, RoboCop, which opens in theaters today, the British actor showed the audience how the romantic holiday is celebrated in his native country. As is expected from Oldman, the segment is pretty wacky.

The GoD List Banner

Each and every week, I, “Olympic Curling!!!!!!” and “Ugh, this again?” Empress Eve read a lot of comics. Seriously you guys, a lot of comics. Maybe too many comics. I mean, it is possible”¦ theoretically. Naturally, we look forward to some more than others. I mean, who doesn’t? So, let’s take a look into the depths of our pull lists, grab some comics, and we’ll let YOU know what the top books to look forward to are for the week of February 12, 2014. Single issues and trades, they’re all here.

I don’t know if you saw last week’s list, but it was quite long because I had a lot of books to be excited about. That is not quite the case this week. That’s not to say there’s nothing to get hyped about. Certainly not with Marvel and Image launching a new series or twelve every week. So, let’s tell you about some series that are starting this week and one that’s coming to an end. Because everything old is new again on The GoD List!
