By now you’ve likely heard of or seen the video that stormed the ‘net recently claiming to show a real working Back to the Future II hoverboard. Everyone wanted to believe it was a real thing, but the general consensus was that the video was almost certainly fake. Not long after, it was discovered that Funny or Die was apparently behind it all.
Now Funny or Die has admitted to the prank, and is apologizing for such a cruel, cruel hoax. They’ve released a new video with BTTF star Christopher Lloyd, who appeared in the prank video and even got a little emotional toward the end to help try to sell it, talking about the deception. He also reveals a way that one person will be able to win a replica hoverboard that was signed by the celebrities who took part in the prank.

For real Christopher? I adored you as Reverand Jim. I own the whole Back to the Future series. I just saw that and because it was you I believed.
