Another pair of actors have joined the cast of Disney’s upcoming live-action/CG hybrid retelling of Rudyard Kipling‘s tale The Jungle Book.
First up is the great Christopher Walken, who has signed on to play the role of King Louie, the orangutan seeking the secrets of creating fire. Also joining the cast is Breaking Bad and Revolution star Giancarlo Esposito, who will play leader of the wolf pack Akela.
The duo joins a cast that already includes Idris Elba as Shere Khan, Scarlett Johansson and Lupita Nyong’o as Kaa and Raksha, Ben Kingsley as Bagheera, and newcomer Neel Sethi as Mowgli. The only big role still not cast is Baloo the bear.
Iron Man director Jon Favreau is at the helm for the movie, which is currently set for an October 9, 2015 release.
Picturing Walken playing this character is pretty amazing…though it’s very unlikely the song and dance will be used in this new movie, and that’s a little depressing knowing Walken’s dance moves.
