Oregon doom metal masters YOB are gearing up for the release of their seventh studio album Clearing the Path to Ascend. They have just released a teaser video for the album which is to be the first with their new label, the band Neurosis’ Neurot Recordings.

“Yob’s music to me is an avenue and a vehicle to explore darkness,” says frontman Mike Scheidt in the teaser clip. He explains that this record is very emotion and reflects a lot of personal changes that occurred in his life as of late. Based on the music in this clip, it looks as if his soul searching has been very cathartic!

Clearing the Path to Ascend will be available worldwide on September 2nd via Neurot Recordings.
