After writing and co-directing Disney’s massive animated hit Frozen, which made $1.2 billion worldwide on a $150 million budget and went on to win an Academy Award for Best Animated Feature, Jennifer Lee is set to tackle something new for Disney.
Lee is set to adapt the 1962 Madeleine L’Engle novel A Wrinkle in Time, which follows a girl from a very gifted family whose government scientist father disappears while working on a mysterious project.
Unlike Frozen, Lee will not be directing A Wrinkle in Time; a director for the project has not yet been chosen. She will, however, continue to work as part of Disney Animation’s story trust on other upcoming projects such as Big Hero 6 as she writes the Wrinkle screenplay.
Lee also worked on the screenplay for Wreck-It Ralph.
